Frequently asked questions
We engineer vertically integrated ecosystems, where every solution fuels the next:
- Our Cocoa husk waste from farms → powers Kayayei Green Village’s micro-factories
- Carbon credits from restored mangroves → support GHIP climate literacy programs
Solar mini-grids → energize waste-to-value hubs run by former child laborers
Our roots are Ghanaian (est. 2023), but our model scales across West Africa:
✅ Operational in 2 countries: Ghana (mangrove restoration) & Nigeria (GHIP schools).
✅ 2027 expansion: Liberia (cocoa husk systems), Benin (savannah agroforestry)
✅ Global partnerships: Carbon buyers
Three non-negotiables:
- No external "experts": Elders and youth co-design every project (e.g., GHIP curricula use Anansi folktales, not polar bears).
- Land stewardship first: Traditional custodians (Tindanas, fisherfolk leaders) approve all ecosystem work.
- Language justice: Materials in Twi, Ga, Yoruba, Ewe, not just English.
Example: In Kayayei Green Village, trauma healing uses drum circles, not Western therapy manuals.
ProSolar will keep track of your referral information and send a check or Visa gift card within 30 days of the project being completed.
Two layers of protection:
- Group verification: Kayayei girls’ wages confirmed by peer committees (not managers).
- Public ledgers: All payments visible via payment platform.
The communities:
- Kayayei Green Village: the grils artisan collective (girls rescued from head-porting).
- CocoaVine Wines: 20% ownership by 210 smallholder farmers.
All land restoration: Legally registered under community land trusts (not GVI).
1. A corporate buyer: Carbon credits with human impact (70% to communities).
2. A sustainable brand: Waste-to-value supply chains (e.g., husk-fiber packaging)
3. A funder; Direct project investment (not overhead).
Only if your skills match urgent community needs:
✅ Currently needed: Solar engineers, trauma counselors, agroforestry scientists.
❌ Not needed: Short-term "voluntourism," unskilled labor.
All volunteers undergo 6 weeks of cultural humility training. Minimum 6-month commitment.
Three high-impact actions:
- Adopt a Husk Stream ($5,200): Fund a village collection hub. You’ll get monthly drone footage of your diverted waste.
- Sponsor a Kayayei Girl ($220/month): Covers education + green enterprise seed capital. You’ll receive voice notes from her not generic reports.
Offset flights via mangroves ($20/ton): 70% funds KGV scholarships; 30% to fisherfolk stewards. Verified live.
MARKET OPPORTUNITY (GHANA & WEST AFRICA)
We are a vertically integrated impact engine that uniquely connects:
- Renewable Energy
- Waste Management
- Carbon Markets
- Youth Engagement
Ghana targets 10% renewables in its energy mix by 2030. Over 6 million Ghanaians lack reliable electricity, clean water, clean storage systems, mini-grids and solar home systems represent a $500M+ market (World Bank, 2024).
Only 15% of Ghana’s 1.7M tons/year of plastic waste is recycled. Circular economy solutions are urgently needed.
Africa’s voluntary carbon market could reach major annually by 2030. Ghana’s REDD+ readiness and mangrove ecosystems offer high-integrity carbon projects.
60% of Ghana’s population is under 25. Demand for climate literacy and green skills is surging among schools and parents
